Had my baby here and everything went great, everyone was very nice and helpful throughout my wife and daughters 3 days there after her c section. No pressure for breast feeding and lots of helpful tips without being pushy. Great experience for the best day of my life.
Emergency Room is sooooo slow and some of the staff are ignorant.... we have been waiting for a room for over 2 hours, all they keep saying is it should be soon.... this is absolutely ridiculous to have to wait for a room in a hospital for over 2 hours, and we are still waiting.... they really need to look at their process for admitting a patient to the hospital and they need to make huge improvements on this process. We have been here so far now over 4 hours and still waiting......
If I could give this hospital zero stars I would. I came in with extreme back spasms to my lower back. I was vomiting. I couldn't stand, sit or lay down... While they tried to make me comfortable in the waiting room with a vomit bag and a reclining chair, I quickly realized they thought I was a "pill seeker"... They put me in a room for over an hour and no one checked on me as I cramped and had severe spasms. A Physicians Assistant finally came in when I actually called the hospital and complained. She told me I couldn't be in that much pain because I was visibly upset and moving. Those are called "spasms"... Perhaps you should go back for your M.D. After giving me a urine test which I am assuming was to test me for opiates which of course came out clean since NOT everyone living in the surrounding Reading area is on heroin or pain killers, I was finally given (2) two injections and sent on my way. Oh.. and because my parents came the P.A. asked why I had so many people in the room... Is that really any of her business? However, first they were taken to an empty room by security and told that was my room... I guess that's what happens when you ignore your patients. My mom is a nurse and told me she's NEVER heard that asked in ER. Furthermore, I actually have a bulged disc in my back which I have not taken pain killers and will not take them. Seriously, St. Joe's I am the furthest thing from a "pill seeker" you're going to find. Next time I will go to Reading. You really should stop making self assessments of people when they walk in the door based on how the person looks. It's called profiling.. Not EVERYONE IS A "PILL SEEKER"...
Update, just got into a room, which is semi private, it's 9pm and the person sharing the room has little kids running and screaming around... I asked the nurse when that was going to wrap up over there and she said there are no visiting hours, so my father who is 77 years old with a breathing issue is put into a room with this noise and chaos...smfh!!! This hospital is on my last F****** nerves!!!
Went in with severe pain i told them what i could take for pain because im allergic to most they tell me they will only give me something for the sickness but nothing for my pain. They didn't care would not recommend to my dog if he was suffering
I came to the emergency room and had a horrible experience - it took 7 hours, 4 hours before I was even seen by a doctor! I was in severe pain and it seemed like no one cared. There was no sense of urgency from anyone in the entire ER! I saw that they have a goal of 3 hours or less from arrival to discharge - in order to meet that goal they are going to need to actually do some work and care about people's wellbeing. They CT technician talked down to me, the doctor was completely useless, they wouldn't even give me a cup of water. Then they wouldn't let me see my test results and they wouldn't fax them to my doctor or give me copies. I had to come back in the next day, when I wasn't feeling well, and go to 3 different departments to pick them up! It was the most out of date process I have ever seen and a woman in the medical records department gave me attitude. I will never go here again - they did absolutely nothing to help me in my time of need and I have no respect for a hospital that doesn't care about their patients.
